Conference Slogan For Families Of Special Children

Posted by ksales76 on 125 Points
I am coordinating the 8th international conference for families of children with a chromosome abnormality (chromo 15). It will be held in Orlando in 2015. It's a 3 day conference with medical/education/therapy/schooling sessions.

There should be around 500 registered attendees, with at least 50 individuals with this diagnosis and many of their siblings. Last year, in Minnesota, we had families from over 8 countries.

We consider ourselves family and enjoy having time with people who understand our lives. The first night is also a dinner and raffle/auction.

What have been the slogans of previous conferences?
What's new/different that you want to share for this year?
What's the name of your organization?
What have people said in the past about the benefit of attending your conference?

Last year we were in Minnesota and the slogan was "Reach for the Stars" (because MN is the Land of the North Star)
We've also used: 2011 (Philadelphia) United We Stand
    2009 (Indianapolis) Full Steam Ahead
    2007 (Boston) Sharing the Journey
    2005 (Schaumburg) Growing Up Together
2003 (Philadelphia) ---- (no particular theme)

We are called Dup15q Alliance. We had thought about trying to incorporate something Disney (since we're in Orlando) or 15 in 15 (Dup15q in 2015).

Our families love coming to conference because it gives us a chance to be surrounded by people who understand what our lives are like (no one staring a kid having a melt down, etc.). At this point there isn't much that will be new. We will talk about whatever the most recent research is showing, etc.

(Aside: don't reference Disney in your conference title - otherwise you'll have their legal team contacting you)

    Bringing our experience together

The experience that brings understanding to your child [ .... not too good, but okay for a start ]

Making Chromo15 a part of your life

    Every child is special.

Chromo15 shouldn't make your life so dismal [ - - - not the right thing to say - but you might be able to turn it around and make something sensible from it]

Happier parents, happier children, happier families

    More understanding means happier children.
