How Many Hash Tags Are Too Many?

I noticed that a company I follow on Pintrest posted a pin with 11 (yes 11!) hash tags on one pin. To my thinking, that is overkill. In an attempt to cast such a wide net, result will be posts that are irrelevant to most viewers.

What is the optimal number of hash tags on a post?

    It's hash tag stuffing and it's bad practice. Any more than 3 per post is too many.

    I'm thinking around 3-4 would be appropriate. Above that it is getting to be annoying.
