Need Better Name Than "young Professionals"

Posted by kathleenhoward on 250 Points
Mostly because of the timing of our two most recent BIG recessions, commercial real estate firms missed out on almost two full generations of recruiting.

Our CRE firm wants to form a group (like Young Professionals) that would support one another within the firm and, when successful, become a recruiting tool for adding additional (younger) brokers.

Our brokers are compensated by commission fees (only). They are educated, tech savvy, and busy, so this group needs to deliver substance to members right out of the chute.

Aside from Young Professionals, the only suggested name on the table is Next Gen. Any other ideas?

Why include the word "young"? Why not use the word "mentor" instead (as in "Tech Mentors" or "RE Mentors")?

Thanks for the input. It will be open to all but we want to have a name with a hook for the x/y/millennials as they are the future leaders. The members will dictate the content. If we can attract our younger brokers to this, then it will likely be on a FB page where they can easily participate, but unless the name is something more exciting than the usual, it will be seen as the sale old ideas and will be DOA. Our groups seem to migrate or devolve very quickly to the old guard. We already have mentoring groups and few of the younger brokers take advantage of that resource. The only ideas so far that are within the realm of what we want are Next Gen and Transformers, but neither has the raw power of youthfulness, which to a large extent is a state of mind. Again thanks for your help.

Sounds like the oldsters are trying to drive the younger group, rather than the younger group taking a lead themselves. What would they call themselves?

    Future leaders
    Innovators
    New Gen / Next Gen
Members at the start of their career
    New Talent
    Breakthrough
    Rising Stars

If there is a push towards more tech approach to the role then use something techy in the name.

Is there an industry slang word for a "hot new property" that you could use in a play on words to create the group name?

My suggestions (not ideal but may stir somebody else's thoughts):

Prop Idols - (Prop short for property)
    Comm Stars
    CRE-ative Junkies
