Does anyone know of any research done on QR code usage statistics, demographics of users that does NOT come from a QR code service provider?

That's what I am trying to explain to others. I feel that any statistic I find is an inflated number from a QR code supplier or is based off of a one-time, exploratory use which aren't helping my case.

No, but you'd probably enjoy Scott Stratten's book called "QR Codes Kill Kittens" as therapy. It's basically a quick picture book showing misguided uses of QR codes and other marketing blunders. It'll give you a good laugh. I leave it on my desk and share with my executive team from time to time.
