Topic: Taglines/Names

Holistic Nutritionist Consultant

Posted by sharons on 250 Points
I am currently in the process of setting of a holistic Nutrition Consulting business. I would be dealing with mainly female clients aged aged 25-40 helping them to achieve optimal health with nutrition. My long term goal (down the line) is to open a Health and Wellness centre. I am currently trying to come up with a name I am currently thinking

Be You Best Nutrition (I feel this is too cheesy sounding though what are your thoughts?) and my tag line is “Eat well, feel well, be well” (although since setting it up I have come across many similar tag lines)

Other names I have come up with are:
Better Balanced Health
Better Balanced Nutrition
Sharon Nolan Nutrition (this could be the best option if I do end up going the wellness centre route down the line)

Does any one have any other good suggestions. Any help much appreciated.

Thanks,

I guess you'll be meeting clients face-to-face and most business you'd expect to get from referrals and connections? If this is the case, then for me your name is an important part of the business. If you don't want to use your name, then perhaps something a bit sharper would be more memorable?

    Shape Nutrition
    Harmony Nutrition
    Pivotal Nutrition / Fulcrum
    Wellstar Nutrition / Wellster
    Pinpoint Nutrition

I agree with Saul on using your name, maybe as the add-on:

    Harmony Health by Nolan
    Sharon Nolan's Wholesome Health

If you are going to expand to wellness centre within a couple years, I would avoid nutrition in the name as that may limit the brand longer term. But if it is several years away (5-6), that may not matter since it would help focus your brand and be easier to market.

Hi, Thanks for your suggestions. I wouldn't be going down the Wellness center route for at least 4-5 years. I have thought that using Nutrition might limit me later. Would it be an idea to use only my name now i.e Sharon Nolan Nutrition and then it would make transitioning into a Health and Wellness Centre (with a name for it) difficult?

Another option I was thinking of was starting with something like Flourish Health and Wellness -Again is this too cheesy? (as although consultations will mainly deal with Nutrition I do plan to also to venture into over all wellness (e.g mind and body) especially as I progress.

Thanks again for your input, it is much appreciated.

If you're well known in your community, by all means use your name in your business. Long-term, however, having your name in the business may be a problem if you hope to sell the business. If you're not well known, then why not use the region you're in (either "Boston Wellness & Nutrition" or "Adirondack Wellness & Nutrition"). If you're not planning to go into wellness for a few years, then don't put that into the name - keep it focused on what you're doing for the short-term - to at least get you launched. You can always gradually transition your name based on your needs & experiences.

It depends to a large degree on your personal objective for this business. If it's mostly a platform for you to do what you enjoy doing (i.e., creating a great job for yourself), then there's no reason not to use your name ... since the business is really mostly you.

If, on the other hand, you hope to sell the business one day for a lot of money, then you probably don't want to have your name as a central component of the company name. So focus on the objective.

It's almost always better to have a name that is specific to a highly-targeted audience, with a very specific benefit. More generic names (that would make it easier to expand to new areas later) will make communication in the short term more difficult. And when the business is new you'll have enough challenges without having to deal with confusing communication.

For now it is definitely just a platform for me to do what I enjoy doing. My name is definitely not well known in the community as I have recently moved to a new city. A few people have said using my name gives more credibility and more of a personal touch and although I agree I do feel it is very dull. I hope in the future however to expand into a wellness center. I was thinking if I use my name for now with Nutrition that if/when I do expand in to the wellness center it will be a much easier transition .

Thanks again for all of your advice it is great :)
