Need Tagline For Art Business

Posted by kiernan on 250 Points
I am an artist and poet with a focus on the feminine image. I paint with acrylic on canvas and with each painting I write a poem that goes with it conveying an inspiring message of love, healing, hope, and empowerment.

I now offer commissions titled 'Flame Within Portrait' and this is going to be my big focus going forward where I capture the essence and 'soul fire' of my patrons. I describe my art as poetic paintings.

I'm trying to get away from using spiritual terms like Goddess so I can reach more women.

I use my personal name for my business. I need a new tagline! Any suggestions would be so appreciated!!
Thanks!
Kiernan

Who is the primary target audience? Where? Is the buyer/decision-maker usually the person whose image is painted, or is it a friend/relative? Gift? Ego indulgence? We need to understand the business goal and positioning in order to come up with the right tagline for you.

Are you fairly well-known among your primary target audience, so that your name means something to them?

My primary target audience is women, normally between 35-60 in Canada and the U.S. primarily. My buyers purchase paintings/prints for themselves. They are women who have begun exploring personal development and self-help avenues because they are frustrated with their life, lacking fulfillment and joy. Often they experience chronic fatigue, depression, and feeling like they are hiding from a bigger purpose in life. They are impacted too much by what others think of them and are seeking freedom from this and to express who they really are. There is another group who is more advanced in knowing themselves better yet still struggle to find and commit to their sweet spot in life.

Among this latter group I am more well known and they have great respect for my talents as a poet and artist, however they are not necessarily spending.

Essentially my name has been out there for several years now, first as an author and healer, and now the past couple of years I have turned to my poetic paintings - it is here I have been receiving the most recognition and fulfillment.

    Mission Statement
Kiernan Antares’s mission is awakening women to the deeper meaning of their lives through the marriage of poetry and paint. She is passionate about spending time with her patrons, listening and getting to know their deepest desires, then she brings these qualities to life in a Flame Within Portrait that will always remind them of their inner beauty and wisdom.

    I hope this helps!
    Thank you!

If you are known or people are finding out about you through word of mouth why do you need a tagline? I'm not sure I can think of any other artists who would use one?

    Lyrical Art
    Portraits from the soul
    Blending portraits and poetry
    Images touched by poetry
    Paintings of an inner voice

Thank you, Saul! These are some wonderful taglines to ponder.

While word of mouth is helping lots, I'm not having as many sales as I need. In fact, I know several artists with tag lines with great success with mentoring by Ann Rea (artist and founder of Artists Who Thrive). She advocates a mission based approach using a Blue Ocean Strategy.

FWIW, it's unlikely that a tagline -- no matter how good it is -- will really get you more customers. What you need is a remarkable marketing plan. (Yes, I know that when you're a hammer every problem looks like a nail. :) )
