Term To Show Agency The Style, That Marketing Want

Posted by damiandmz on 50 Points
Hi,

For example, we do animated 30" tvc, marketing want to send us few examples showing what style they would like to get. In Poland we call it references (referencje). Is more like a slang world not matching exactly it's orygin meaning. What is english word used for it globally?

Google will not help with this, trust me :)

Thanks from above,
Damian

Do you mean a 'show-reel' (ie examples of previous work). A 'credentials presentation' or 'credentials meeting'? In parts it's just called a 'corporate presentation', or a 'pitch'?

First thanks for Your reply. AFAIK, credentials and others You have listed meas more like portfolio. I ment thing more like benchmark. When we do animation, client send us few animation types he like, more often from competetive companies. Just to show style/flow and let us going in good direction during creation process.

    Anyone? :-)

OK. Now I follow what you're looking at. We might ask for this as follows

"We'd like to understand the sorts of things you like in animation - examples or ideas that made you go wow or that capture elements of what you want the animation to look like, swatches for colours, styles and designs, or any other stimulus materials."

Single words: exemplars, specimens, yardsticks, reference materials, samples, illustrations

Yep, I think that's it. I'll go for "references" for my purposes, maybe because of polish version of the word we use. Thank You saul.dobney! Cheers!

Saul"s single words suggestions will work. Also, the word "tone" is often used in marketing planning and creative briefs, e.g. "What are some preferred examples for the creative tone of your animation?"
