Allacronyms.com Feedback And Suggestions

Posted by Anonymous on 500 Points
Hello,

Our team recently launched a new version of www.allacronyms.com (Database of acronyms and abbreviations) and would greatly appreciate your feedback!

The website www.allacronyms.com has been developed with the idea to create a convenient tool for people who need to find Abbreviation meaning or to find how to abbreviate particular word.

Our primary goal was to make the website attractive to visitors and user-friendly (you can compare it with other similar websites both on desktop and mobile). The complexity of database content and various filtering and sorting options is a bonus ;)

What www.allacronyms.com is missing? What changes would make it a better one for general public or for you?

Your constructive feedback is very appreciated!

Thank you,

Alex

Who is your primary target audience? How do they typically find the site?

From a marketing perspective it's hard to evaluate a site without knowing who you are serving and how they find you.

As for "the general public" as a target audience, that's unwieldy. Nobody can speak for "the general public" except the general public itself. Not sure how you can deal with that kind of target audience definition ... unless perhaps you are Google.

It looks fine. What are your website metrics telling you? What marketing question are you ultimately asking?

In regards to "general public" - All Acronyms dictionary has definitions in a wide range of topics from Internet Slang and Escorts to Psychology and Computing.

Most traffic comes from search engines and from referrals (industry specific websites).

I think what we are asking is "What's the marketing question or issue?"

This forum is for the purpose of sharing solutions to, and ideas about, marketing issues. Most of us are professional marketers. When we look at your site and read your initial question, it's not clear that you have a marketing issue. If I'm wrong, perhaps you can be more explicit regarding what you would like to know and what marketing problem you're trying to solve.

We will certainly help you if we can. We just need to understand the issue first.

The site looks very blank, and I agree with KSA that the adsense blocks are definitely a turn off.

I would try to get a more structured / separated design. Have a look at this for example - https://www.ventureharbour.com/how-to-build-website-using-wordpress-wix-sho...

The background colour separates the main content block. You can achieve that through careful use of colour / bordering. Another option might just be to install a brand new theme if it's based on WP.

Good idea, I'd just tighten up the on page design to avoid any possible panda penalties.
