Pilates Studio In Need Of Name

Posted by lewa5825 on 200 Points
Looking for a great name to launch the next step in my business. We are moving into a cute tourist/retirement town with a western feel surrounded by vineyards and orchards in southern Oregon named Jacksonville on the corner of 5th and California.

I provide 1-on-1 sessions for people looking to get out of pain and return to their active lifestyle. I also do small group classes for Pilates and barre classes.

My background is a doctor of Physical Therapy. My nickname is LewLew. And my last name is Diamond.

Thanks in advance for your help :)

Why make it any harder than it needs to be? Diamond Pilates.

    Or "Jacksonville Pilates."

    Keep it simple.

Given that there is a studio named "Pilates Studio of Jacksonville", Gary's suggestion is good and simple. But if you're looking for something different, you'll need to detail what'll make your studio truly different (in the eyes of prospective customers) from others in your area.

Thanks for the input. Our prospective clients are highly motivated individuals looking for that best care to get them back to theirs lives. They value having the next level of care from a doctor of PT. They appreciate the holistic approach (which may lead to bringing other practitioners on board such as nutritionist, yoga, etc). I will also offer barre classes which will be completely new to the area. Hope that helps. Again thank you for your input.

Also here are some of our ideas:
    J'ville Pilates
    The Well
    J'Well

Personally, I like The Well, though I feel you'll probably need a solid tagline to make sure people know what you offer. Other thoughts:

    Jacksonville Holistic Pilates
    Next Level Pilates
    Restore

I like your nickname, "Lew, Lew". The only problem is the spelling. A popular spelling of that sound is "LuLu" from LuLuLemon. You may also find people spelling it as "looloo".

Nevertheless, for a small local business, using the name to really stick in people's minds may be worth the trouble. You may consider changing how it's spelled to "LuLu" (Unless the current spelling is how your network identifies you).

    Name ideas:

LuLu Wellness - Pilates and Barre Studio

    LewLew Pilates

    LuLu Pilates -

LewLew Diamond Therapy - Pilates and Barre Healing Specialists

LewLew Diamond Pilates - Heal Your Body, Mind, and Soul

    LuLu Diamond Pilates

LuLu Therapy - Your Pilates and Barre Specialists

LuLu Diamond Studios - Pilates and Barre

Anyway, the above examples are not perfect, but I hope you catch my drift. Use a unique and memorable name that is relative to your brand. And use a clear, simple, ane concise tagline to quickly tell people what you do. Dont over-do it.

Dont forget to establish relationships with local physicians, physical therapists, psychologists, churches, organic food stores, health and fitness centers, and the like. Getting referrals is the name of the game.

    Hope this helps! Good Luck!

I too like LewLew and even though most people will mis-spell it if you optimize your website (providing you will have a website) for the mis-spelling you will get that traffic as well.

LewLew Wellness Center (as mentioned above, tagline must deliver on what you are offering)

Diamond Pilates and Wellness Studio (I like the use of your last name because it immediately invokes a sense of quality)

Thank you for your input. Could I get your input specific to J'Well. We have done some market sampling and that is the most popular. Perhaps die to the familiarity of the towns nickname j'ville? What are your professional opinions and possible tag lines? Thank you in advance.

J'Well wouldn't be my first choice. It is still too cryptic. What does it mean, especially if someone doesn't know that it's a Pilates studio or wellness center? You can't assume people will get the nuance of "well" with the J. I'd be more explicit about what the business is. Then the tagline can begin to suggest the benefit.

Think about how people will learn about the business. Where will they see/hear the name? Will they get it, understand what you do and remember it?

What's wrong with "Diamond Pilates" or "J'ville Pilates?"

It sounds like you're really liking J'Well. But if you think people may understand it, you might consider J'Well Pilates - to at least give people a clue of what you're offering. Alternatively, how about J'Love Pilates?
