Need A Name For My Executive Search Firm

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I am starting my own Recruiting Firm and in need of a name. My last name is Albert, but there is already the Albert Group, Albert Associates, etc out there. I thought of my initials "JFA Search Partners", but not sure how memorable that sounds. I'd love to have a word that is timeless and sophisticated, yet unique. I specialize in Sales and Marketing positions right now, but may want to expand in the future, so don't want to make the name too narrow. Any ideas?

Since no one will know your name, why not find a name that targets your audience? Who are your clients? Where are they located? Who's paying for your services (companies or individuals)? What make your skills/services better than your competition - in ways that your prospective customers will pay for?

Jay is pointing you in the right direction. What you would like the name to do is suggest the unique and important benefit your primary target audience can expect you to deliver.

Define that target audience as precisely as you can and then let's determine what your unique benefit is for that audience. Once we've done that the name will become obvious.

    Can you answer Jay's questions?

    Hi Jay,
Thank you for your response and thoughtful questions.

My target audience is primarily Consumer Products companies and they are located all over the US. However, it gets complicated because I am also doing business with a few local companies (because I have contacts there) that are outside of Consumer Products arena altogether. So, this is why I am trying to give myself a more "broad" name. Local for me is Philadelphia.

    The companies pay my fee.

I feel that I am better than my competition because I make it my goal to really listen to what the client (the company) is looking for and use my wide network and solid research skills to find the right people in a very timely manner. I don't try to force deals to happen and I make sure to only present the "best of the best" candidates.

I agree with Randall and would encourage you to heed all the advice you've received thus far.
I'd also encourage you to use the word "executive" in the title so that it's clear you are an executive search and recruitment company. This will help you weed out any candidates who may not fit your preferred client profile.
