    Hi Meg,

What are you offering? And, more to the point, who is your best qualified customer? What KIND of manuals? What SORT of parts?

Access to capital equipment manuals, safety notices, engineering notices. Customer come to our site to research the manuals, order spare parts for their equipment

    A Reference Library?
    A Support Center?

You'd probably be better served to have sites that are specific to each industry. Otherwise it sounds like you're trying to serve everyone ... which is like serving no one. You can use subdomains if you want, but somehow the description of what you offer/do may need to be specific to each industry.

How/why are you looking for a way to describe your site? Describe to whom? It's a real stretch to think that someone looking for airplane or rocket parts would go to a site that has updated control software for a large German-made printing press. and manuals for farm equipment made in Japan, and safety instructions for boilers that propel tankers in the Middle East, etc.
