A Tagline For A Web Development Company

Posted by nichelle on 250 Points
I am looking for help with a tagline for a website development company.

The company focuses on getting small businesses online easily - taking the frustration out of not knowing where to start and what they need to do to be successful online.

They have a focus on small local businesses in a small city, where only the biggest companies are online.

Unfamiliarity and perceived expense are the main barriers to "getting online". Most clients don't understand the ROI.

It would help to know more details, including: the name of the company, the region that they focus in, what types of websites do they specialize in (for a niche? using specific technology? mobile?), and how they compare to their competiton. Also, it sounds like you're looking for a tagline to educate prospective clients (they don't know that they need this), which is much harder to accomplish rather than being the solution the client is seeking.

Good clarifying questions, thanks. The location is atlantic Canada.

The business is (unimaginatively) named "Website Development [location]". They specialize in tourism related business websites, with a secondary focus on service based business.

Major competitors are a couple of large, full-scale marketing firms who also do websites. This company is a small, personal, web-first company.

That tagline doesn't need to educate the need for a web presence, but address perceived barriers. They expect it to be expensive, but they don't see the cost as an investment. The clients expect it to be a lot of work to get online, but the company makes it easy.

So, to sum up, the tagline should express: business will improve, the company makes it easy

    Those are excellent, thanks!
Can you see any way to work in simplicity, without overcomplicating the line?

I would be concerned that you will compromise overall communication (and memorability) if you add another thought. Simpler is better.

Save "easy" for your sales call. That's not really a benefit as much as it is an answer to a possible objection. Use the tagline to call out the target audience and promise an important [single-minded] benefit for them.
