One Facebook Page Or Multiple??? Home Builder

Posted by Don B on 250 Points
Help! I have a client that is a regional home builder. Currently operating in two metropolitan areas, but adding more over the next couple of years. They currently have a Facebook page for each metro area and operate them separately. Is it better to have one universal page for all markets and use unique campaigns for local geographies or should we have separate pages for each location and keep it local? Why is your suggestion best?

I suggest retaining one main page and using locally focused ads.

Doing it this way cuts down on the amount of content you need to create, it reduces the likelihood that fewer people will see the multiple pages due to any shifts in Facebook's algorithm change, and it gives you the ability to showcase regional, main stream developments to one focused audience while using Facebook's ad platform to showcase developments to other audiences.

I have a client in a similar situation, and we opted to have a single page, with separate local campaigns. It seemed simpler when we set it up, and it seems to be working well for us.

What I can't tell is whether it would really have been any better or worse if we'd done it the other way. It's possible that we're happy with the status quo because we never tried an alternative, and the likely benefit from a change doesn't seem worth the effort.
