Typical Sales Commission Terms For $100 M+ Sales

Posted by mike_kaplan on 125 Points
I'm considering a job offer with a major aerospace company. Their HR people have mentioned that commissions might be part of my compensation package. I'm in BD, so I'm use to salary plus performance bonus, but I have never encountered commissions before. Typical product sale would be between $50 million to $500 million. In this business there aren't that many sales per year and each product tends to be customized to customer needs. Anybody have any thoughts on what might represent reasonable commission terms for this type of situation?
