You need to start by understanding the specific objective. If it's just "to promote a digital art school" you can put a sign out on the lawn and declare success.

When you have a specific objective -- including conversion targets, timing, budget, etc. -- then you (and we) can develop strategies and tactics to see if it all fits together.

Who is the target audience? Where? What unique and important benefit do you promise (and deliver) for your target audience?

Thanks mgoodman. the objective is to train and create job opportunities for people. we have lots of university graduates unemployed, looking for how to make them start a career.

target Audience: from high school leaver to higher institution graduates even those that want to be self employed.

Timing: a month class, where: Nigeria, Lagos state precisely for now.

    Thanks

    A good start.

How many of these folks do you want to train, and by what date? How much are you prepared to spend to recruit students?

Do you have a job placement service for those who take the course? If not, why should they make the investment in this kind of training? What are their other alternatives (and your competition)?

we like to train as many as possible, but 7 students per class. we ready to spend as much as it'll cost us as long as the marketing strategy is going too give us result.

we have job placement for them in advertising agencies, studios, production house and even teach them how to start as a freelancer.

there are a lot of training school riund us, even strong compettors. but we have our own unique sellling points. others teach how to use softwares, we teach the act of designs.

all i want is the marketing ideas to pull traffic.

The reason people ask for more details about your school is that marketing strategy begins with an understanding of who you're targeting and you perceived uniqueness to them. Once that's clear, you can figure the right tactics to use to get traffic.

You could pay current/past students for referrals (for new students). You could get referrals from local university art teachers or their placement office. You could have a contest - people submit a small portfolio (for free), with the winner getting free classes (and more awareness of your school). The list goes on - based on your budget, your target audience, etc.

There's a serious disconnect here for me with what you're asking for and what you're offering. Part of the process of visual communication needs to be the "how to" and mechanics of marketing and selling.
While you're teaching people specific technical skills, you're demoing them a disservice if you don't also teach your students about the craft and art of marketing and sales. Your best advertisements are right under your nose: can you guess what they are?

@ Jay Hamilton-Roth, thanks so much, really helpful. will work on that. you can check the academy website and suggest where i need to strengthen too. www.dudutoolz.com

@ Gary Bloomer, thanks for your contributions, what are the advertisement you referring to?

it sounds like you know that you need to promote the eventual careers than the actual classes. may i suggest collecting some data on your "graduates" and their successes at finding relevant employment? that's what prospective students care about: they want to turn their creative juices into a sustainable living... show them that/how your school has helped past students be successful in their desired field.
