Website Reporting Style

Posted by rum68br on 25 Points
Hello everyone,

Just secured a role as junior web data analyst.

So part of my role is to provide reports on different activities based on basic metrics and any information relevant and provide recommendations.

When doing this, I have been told I should have noticed some other aspect and reported on that. Another suggestion is to make the language less technical, which I have done, but they still get confused what each term means.

Can anyone let me know the best way to tackle this problem?

Stop trying to tell them what the metrics mean in general. Instead, understand what information they need to know to better make decisions, and provide it to them in that context. Don't frustrate them with techno-speak. Help them with actionable business-speak.
