Definition Of Media Marketing

hi, i am not a student. but because of work, i came across this term 'media marketing' and i'm supposed to be an expert on it when i have no marketing background at all.

complaints aside. i would really appreciate if anybody is able to tell me what media marketing is. i have googled this term extensively but yielded no results.

is media marketing the same as social media marketing? my instincts are telling me it's totally different. social media marketing is marketing on social media right?

so is media marketing a form of marketing for the media (eg television and/or movies and short films)?

i would appreciate if anybody is able to give me anything so i can find my way out of the dark.

    I have not heard of media marketing before. New media marketing or social media marketing are more common terms I have heard. Media marketing could relate to marketing to media, as you guessed.

    Might help is you could describe the industry you are in or how the term has been used.

    It's news to me. Might simply be a variation of social media marketing—which is still simply marketing.
