I Need Help With A Name For My Swimmer Line/brand?

Posted by dkennelly89 on 250 Points
Im starting a swimwear line/company.I I literally have no experience in the fashion industry except for that I know what I like and I don't like but I have always had a bikini obsession. I have more bikinis in my closet than I do shoes. Im a so cal girl born and raised, I have always loved to rock my bikinis and pretty much wear them all year long lol. However, I have spent the last 7 years selling corporate jet charter, so sales and marketing I definitely have some knowledge. I would appreciate any suggestions on deciding a name or what to call my line. I have a few ideas but nothing that Im in love with. What and how should I go about deciding a good name for my brand???thanks to all and anyone that could help!!!!!

The right name should connect with your target audience. Who are they? Their age range? Income level? Where do they live? Where/how will you be selling your products? Why should they care about your taste/style instead of the multitude of other product lines?

In general, your brand name should be one of the last things you focus on. First, is your marketing/business plan. Once you have a name, how will you attract interested buyers? How will you know the proper price point and your cost of goods?

To be perfectly honest either use your name - most fashion brands do this - or pick an abstract name that you like and reflects your personality and the personality and mood of the clothes you want to sell (not features or benefits). Just don't go for something trendy now that will show its age in ten years time. Think of the mood of your customer when they're shopping and wearing your bikini and how they want to feel - is it chic, sexy, sporty, practical (eg swimming), partytime, tanning, young, older? Find the mood and then find the words.

Im so sorry for the delay, I have had login issues on this sight and been super busy with business planning and running around and learn everything and everyone, anyway thank each and every one of you for taking the time out of your busy day and responding and extending your help! So...as I go Im learning @ Jay Hamilton-Roth and figured out pretty much your 100% correct about wasting so much time on the "brand name" lol, however as I have researched. I'll admit Im having a hard time actually figuring Ie: actual costs or around actual costs, or do I need to actually go out and purchase everything and produce a actual bikini and then determine costs????Thank you I'm advance for your time and guidance?
