Question

Topic: Taglines/Names

Does This Tagline Work?

Posted by jordan on 250 Points
We have a product that's much stronger and more durable than the competition - it's a commercial strength tent frame unlike any other.

Typically tent frames bend and break easily, and are re-purchased each season.

Tagline 'If you like buying tent frames, don't buy this one'

Clever, or confusing?

    Confusing.

    Less confusing-

'If you like buying tent frames every year, don't buy this one'

    Why spin a negative?

Why not say: "This is the last tent frame you will ever buy."

I like it as a headline, but not as a tagline. A tagline should memorably and succinctly capture your value within a few words, e.g. Apple's "Think Different." (Picture it beneath your logo - a whole sentence doesn't fit so well.)

Confusing. If you have a guarantee - lead with that.
