House Plan Startup Company Looking For Traction

Posted by caitlyn on 250 Points
I have a client who started a company 1 month ago called perchplans.com. They offer high-end floor plans in limited edition quantities. Our goal is to drive targeted traffic to the site using Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Houzz, AdWords and Retargeting. We are getting around 100 visitors to the site every day, but haven't seen one conversion yet. Are we doing everything right, missing something, or just impatient for a long sales cycle?

Consider making and sharing videos of the after event: of the dream houses you've built. Mix in interviews with delighted home owners. Then begin systematically reaching out to TV producers, assignment editors, and home improvement show presenters.

Talk about finishes, about details, about the process, and about the relationships.

Have you talked with prospective customers to gauge their interest in what you're offering?
Who would likely be your customer - a general contractor hoping to branch out, or ... ?
Do the plans come with any guarantees?
How are local planning issues addressed?
How can the client gauge that these are great plans?

You may have a segment-to-medium mismatch. Have you found that people looking for high-end floor plans hang out on these social sites?

Are you sure your landing pages are right? Is there good message-match between the ads/links and the landing page? In addition to the possibilities mentioned above, you should probably question/test the landing pages.

If you are just using a generic homepage for the company your conversion rate will almost certainly suffer.

100 hits a day but not one conversion - there's your message. Your message, your story. your content is wrong.

Apparently what they are viewing is not answering the wants/needs/questions.

If you have (my phrase) a social media 'listener' you should. With those sites/apps you have enough in-house data to see where viewer has dropped off your purchase path.

Not knowing sign in, permission marketing template - there should be some trail on the path they are taking.

Once you find when they 'drop off' (again hoping you have persona info) - email permission to give them a call.

You'll be surprised on what one may learn - rephrase - what one will learn and use
