Final Decision For Motivational Speaker Brand

Posted by leanna on 25 Points
Hi, I am a high-energy motivational speaker seeking a brand for my website which currently resides under my name with no associated brand. My speaking centers around equipping and mobilizing others to discover their destiny which is to make an impact in the world.

I request your response as to which of the below two name/brand options is best, and if neither is good please suggest an alternative:

Destiny World Impact
Destiny Global Impact

Thank you very much for your comments

I'm probably not in your target audience, so I may not be the best person to advise on this. (Not sure about others on this forum.) You need to get input from your target audience.

That said, the two names you're considering don't let people know who the audience is or what benefit they can expect. In fact they don't really tell folks what you do. They are fluffy generic words.

"Destiny," in particular, seems fuzzy. What is destiny, who cares, how will you ever know if your destiny is really your destiny, etc.? Whose destiny?

And "world/global impact" sounds so out of reach that I don't know what to do with it. It's not likely that one or two people can really have "global impact." So maybe you are targeting governments, NGOs, not-for-profit organizations or very large multi-national companies. How many of them seek "global impact" and why should they believe you can deliver it?

I'm wondering if you have a fully developed business/marketing plan. If not, then the plan needs to precede the naming. If so, maybe you can share some key strategy elements with us so we can help you think through the naming issues.

What benefit do you deliver to your target audience? And who is that target audience exactly? Where?

Are you targeting individual consumers, or is this really a B2B sale? Who hires motivational speakers, and how do they decide who/when to hire? What are the most important criteria for selection?

Hi, thanks for the great input. What about these ideas:
Energize To Impact (or Energize 2 Impact)
    Energize To Advance
Equipping For Advance (or Equipping 4 Advance)
Equipping To Advance (or Equipping 2 Advance)
    Inspire To Advance

Who is the primary target audience? Is it individuals or sponsoring organizations (who hire the speaker)?

The target audience is leaders who would consider hiring the speaker, specifically conferences and church groups. Check out my current website at www.leannacinquanta.com

Your name is your brand: YOU are your brand. Stick with what you've got.

I agree with Gary. Keep your name as the name of the business. Add a tagline to let your target audience know what you can do for them.

"Inspire" and "Energize" are much better words than "Equipping" or "Destiny."

"Equipping" is for camping trips and "Destiny" doesn't have much connotation of action/motion or excitement.
