Free Books Available

Posted by mgoodman on 80 Points
Who would like a free book plus 10 KHE Expert points?

I have a few extra copies of the book "Kokology 2" available FREE. All I ask is that you pay the postage, plus any out-of-pocket transaction fees (e.g., PayPal). Within the US, that's less than $3-5. I can send it via media mail/book rate (usually about $2.50) or Priority Mail ($3.85; 2-3 day delivery to most places). PayPal fees should be less than $1. (List price on the book is $10.00 USD.)

As a bonus, the first 8 people who express interest and take the books get 10 KHE points each!

If you purchase one of my books at the same time, there will be NO SHIPPING CHARGE, as it will be sent in the same flat-rate envelope via Priority Mail.

Here's what you need to do:

1. Post a reply/answer here saying "I'll take one!" (or something to that effect).

2. Contact me via private email and I'll send you a PayPal invoice. You can use any major credit card to pay the postage/fee, or use your PayPal account, if you have one. Let me know how you want it shipped, which book(s) you want, etc.

3. Provide a specific ship-to address. In the US, this should be easy. Outside the US, I'll have to get rates and let you know what the options are.

If you need info on my books, check out these websites:

For more info on Kokology 2, visit this page on Amazon's website:

https://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0743222121/qid%3D1102972978/sr%3D11...

The Kokology 2 books are brand new. I have them left over because I used them for a tie-in promotion on "The Potato Chip Difference" a few months ago.

(This is not a commercial message. I just want to get rid of these extra books and put them in the hands of individuals who want them.)

    Hi Michael,

    Sounds like an interesting book.

    Count me in.

BTW, I recently ordered Rasputin off of Amazon, haven't received it yet, but I am looking forward to it.

I'll send you my PayPal email offline.

    Thanks!

Looks like this is even easier and less expensive than I thought. Book rate at the US post office, plus the PayPal fee, come to about $2.50 for shipments within the US. For UK, the total is about $6.00, using a flat-rate envelope.

At this rate, the books will be gone by the end of the week. Thank you all. Hope you find it worth the effort! It seemed a shame to simply toss the books.

    Jana,

I don't understand your request. Are you asking for book references for a project? If so, your request should probably be in the "Student Questions" section.

For those who want to pay postage/fees for the "Kokology 2" book but don't have a PayPal account, I'd suggest emailing me directly with your ship-to address. I'll then send a PayPal request for funds (via email). If you follow directions, you can open a PayPal account and use a credit card to pay the $2.50 (in the US), then cancel your PayPal account afterward, if you want to.

I actually find it very helpful to have a PayPal account for all sorts of reasons, so you might want to keep it for a while ... just to see if it's useful for you. There's no cost, and it's really convenient. (And no, I'm not a shill for PayPal. I'm just a long-time user and find it a neat service.)

Diastematic, you don't have any contact information (e.g., email address), so I can't contact you. Please send me an email message with your mailing address and I'll send a PayPal invoice for the postage and fees. I'll send the book on Monday (12/20/2004).

Everyone else: I have 3 or 4 more books and I'm going to close this question by Monday morning (EST, -0500). If you want one of these books please contact me asap.

    Thanks.

I'm going to close this question now and award the points to those who have taken the books. I still have a few copies left, and if you want one just let me know before the end of December. Whatever is unclaimed by New Year's Eve will be donated to local libraries.

    Thanks all for your interest.
