Role Profile:
The Associate Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Communications is responsible for overseeing the execution of all of the company’s “outbound” marketing programs, including marketing communications and corporate communications. This key, strategic position requires that the person in this role work at the company’s San Francisco Bay Area headquarters.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
• Working with the SVP of marketing, develop strategic marketing plans to help enable achievement of the company’s business objectives
• Manage the operational execution of outbound marketing in support of strategic marketing plans
• Serve as a company spokesperson
• Primary objectives of outbound marketing are brand awareness and lead generation
• Manage outbound marketing programs, including:
o Driving integrated, multi-channel marketing campaigns
o Marketing collateral creation (e.g., data sheets, brochures, white papers, client success stories)
o Standard presentations (e.g., corporate overview, solution overview, specific solution)
o Direct marketing
o Advertising (print, online), working with the company’s advertising firm
o Speaking engagements and other thought leadership opportunities for company representatives
o Public and media relations (working with the company’s PR firm and the SVP of marketing)
o Corporate web site
o Social networking/community initiatives
o Email marketing
o Tradeshows and conferences
o Headquarters visit process
o Company-hosted events for clients (e.g., client summits, advisory council meetings)
o Proposal process (supervise an external resource that will project manage the company’s responses to RFPs and establish a proposal process infrastructure, including a proposal database)
• Manage internal communications
o Internal company newsletter (magazine format)
o Marketing portion of company intranet


Skills, Experience and Education:
• Strong leadership skills
• Experience interacting and working with senior-level executives
• Experience managing teams of at least five individuals
• Outstanding writing skills, familiarity with Associated Press style
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work collaboratively with Sales, Product Marketing and Product Management to develop and execute outbound marketing programs
• Experience creating effective brand awareness and lead generation programs
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, carrying out multiple concurrent tasks
• Background in the healthcare and/or technology industries
• Demonstrated self-initiative, self-direction
• A minimum of 10 years marketing, public relations and/or corporate communications experience in a healthcare and/or technology company
• Undergraduate college degree in English, marketing communications, public relations, business administration or related field
• Experience taking one or more companies through the initial public offering process desired
