Job Description- Global Marketing Communication Leader
Basic Function • Define and build a best in class Global Marketing Communication Organization to support APEX Power Tools strategic plan and growth initiatives • Envision and communicate initiatives and gain the buy-in of Senior Management • Responsible for budget control in conjunction with internal “client” departments • Select & Manage the 3rd party vendors, including Web, PR and advertising agencies • Maintain market knowledge of the latest communication solutions & techniques and drive innovation across the enterprise Responsibilities • Build and assemble organization’s Global Marketing Communications team, selecting internal employees as well as hiring external candidates, develop and manage department operations, create standard work for department’s operating procedures • Lead Global Marketing Communication development roadmap(s) for various marketing and sales initiatives • Define targeted and prioritized communications projects and manage roadmap(s) with the product management marketing teams and manage those projects through execution • Support product marketing launches and programs for new and existing products by developing timely and cost effective marketing materials that align with APEX Power Tools strategies and business needs. • Plan and support various industry Tradeshows in all regions • Redefine and lead a Global Content strategy including workflows and global Web Content Management toolsets • Implement promotional programs as needed to stimulate revenue growth to meet financial objectives • Refine understanding of external customer perceptions and drive relevant brand improvement programs • Build and improve professional KPI’s for the Marketing Communications Department and programs • Leverage latest communication channels (web, eCommunication, online PR) to cost-effectively create awareness of APEX Power Tools capabilities in global markets. • Improve processes through review and implementation of new processes for workflow of department. • Assist in implementing training programs as required on existing and new products to develop knowledge within the sales force for successful selling efforts. • Partner with regional business and marketing leaders and other internal teams • Provide excellent internal services to product and other internal “client” departments
Global Reach & Business Development • Define and implement a Global Marketing Communication Strategy, working with regional teams and respecting local cultures, etc. • Lead regional teams towards better alignment and understanding of the global APEX Power Tools brands • Build global steering committee for Marketing Communications and Content Leaders Branding and Advertising • Brand leadership: Work with marketing leaders and various stakeholders to help establish and define APEX Power Tools brand guidelines and strategies • Develop and implement strategies to consistently position APEX Power Tools brands as the “premier brands” in their respective markets • Leads and Sales Generation: Work alongside Marketing leaders and other teams to create best in class lead generation strategies • Analytics: Define and deliver campaign dashboards; drive and maintain benchmark analytics • Customer Engagement: Track customer responses, engagement and sales ROI • Template Management: Develop and maintain template(s) and associated style guides across the Apex Power Tools brands
• BA/BS Degree from a 4 year program, MBA preferred (or related experience) • Eight to ten years related experience, with minimum 3 years in a global environment. • Understanding of industrial product marketing. including partnering with marketing, sales, product, IT, and operations leadership • Experience with channel marketing, B2B and B2C marketing program development and execution • Strong ability to develop business cases and communicate succinctly its value propositions to a broad group of leaders including senior leaders • Project Management experience managing large global campaigns and initiatives. • Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to build successful relationships within a team and cross-functionally. • Ability to exercise good judgment and effectively use decision making skills, confidently handling ambiguous situations and/or issues that may arise. • Ability to effectively present information to an individual or group, both written and verbally. • Ability to work independently (particularly in the absence of supervisor) and be a solution-based thinker. • Ability to work well in a team environment in any capacity. • A solid understanding of digital content, catalog development and web business strategies.
