Job Description:
The Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corporation (GPTMC) seeks a Database & Email Marketing Coordinator for a full-time position to maintain the integrity of GPTMC’s consumer and business-to-business databases. The position reports directly to the Technology Manager. The coordinator also serves as the lead for the development, implementation, and execution of GPTMC’s multi-channel, segmented email circulation. Additionally, this position is an integral member of the strategic development process for GPTMC’s email marketing and customer relationship management (CRM) – required to research and report on industry best practices.

The Database & Email Marketing Coordinator is responsible for working with the Gophila.com team (design, development, tech, QA, content, etc.) and for communicating project status to the Technology Manager.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Manage GPTMC’s subscriber databases (consumer and business-to-business), including the creation and update of lists and segmentation of data for targeted email campaigns
• Maintain the integrity of all database tables by providing a high level check for accuracy
• Develop, test, and deploy all GPTMC email marketing campaigns using a licensed, web-based email application including monthly/bi-monthly stakeholder and consumer e-newsletters
• Maintain the email circulation schedule and coordinate work-flow and production schedule
• Track e-newsletter response metrics (number sent, subscriptions, interactions, etc.)
• Serve as the point of contact for all related email marketing vendors
• Serve as Gophila.com department liaison with auxiliary GPTMC departments meeting needs such as: event invitations, meeting notifications, event RSVP collection, mailing labels, nametags, etc.
• Research and report on industry best practices for email marketing strategy and customer retention via customer relationship management (CRM)
• Participate in the development process for GPTMC’s email marketing and CRM strategy
• Produce contact lists as needed for marketing campaigns and business communications

Requirements for this position:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 1 – 2 years of database/email marketing experience
• Excellent MS Access and Excel skills
• Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) systems a plus
• Basic to Intermediate proficiency with HTML and CSS. Experience with SQL a plus
• Aptitude to understand databases and related technologies
• Excellent understanding of information technology
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills
• Experience working with email service provider tools or campaign management platforms
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
• Exceptional work ethic, ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines
• Ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues inside and outside the organization
