Job Description:

The Manager, Online Publicity is a full-time position in Fanscape’s Partnership Marketing Department. This person will be responsible for pitching, securing, and analyzing media coverage on behalf of our diverse client roster. Additional responsibilities will include drafting and distributing press releases & media alerts, coordinating talent interviews, and reporting & presenting campaign results to the department.

The Manager, Online Publicity must have excellent communication skills both written and verbal. The ideal candidate should have pre-existing online media contacts, prior publicity experience, and strong organizational skills. This person should have an in depth knowledge of popular websites and blogs, and an understanding of how to execute full scale publicity campaigns in this space. The job requires a self-starter with the ability to multi-task and handle multiple campaigns simultaneously.

Overall Role & Responsibilities:
The Manager, Online Publicity will report directly to the Director of Partnership Marketing and will be responsible for the following:
•Developing & executing online publicity strategies
•Drafting pitch letters, press releases, media alerts, etc.
•Creating targeted online media lists
•Pitching online media for editorial placements, interviews, audio/video features, profiles, lifestyle pieces, and more
•Conducting extensive web research
•Developing relationships with key online media
•Reporting and analyzing campaign results

Required Skills & Competencies:
•Strong & creative pitching skills
•Strong internet research skills
•Knowledge of basic computer programs
•Ability to develop new angles to execute difficult campaigns
•Excellent written and verbal skills (a writing sample will be required)
•Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities
•Knowledge and understanding of current web-trends, technologies and analytics
•Knowledge of popular culture and entertainment trends
•Preferred management experience
•Pre-existing online media contacts

Educational & Work Experience Requirements:
•3-years of publicity experience required
•1-year of online publicity experience preferred
•Education: College graduate
