Position Summary:

The Product Marketing Director is focused on leading activities to define and launch new products. Our offerings combine products and a mix of services, and the ideal candidate will have previous success in both product & services Marketing. This person will work closely with the Executive Team, Consulting, Sales, Corporate Marketing, and Product organizations, and reports to the Chief Marketing Officer.


Essential Functions of the job:

This position will drive the requirements and launch activities of new product offerings. Working closely with the Product organization this person will be responsible for defining market requirements, collecting competitive intelligence, identifying and sizing market opportunities, understanding buyer needs, enabling the sales force and defining the go-to-market message.

Product Requirements Definition.
• Conduct industry, competitive, and customer research to identify and target focused market opportunities. Clearly define and communicate the opportunities and plans with Satmetrix personnel at all levels.
• Collaborate with internal and external parties to develop Market Requirements Documents (MRD) for new offerings.
• Work with Product management team to prioritize product roadmap based on maximum market opportunity.
• Work with product and services teams to define competitive pricing.
• Work with the sales team to understand client requirements and map solutions to meet them.
• Work directly with key customers to validate and seed market opportunities.
• Continuously monitor the market landscape to maintain relevance and stay ahead of competition.
• Identify and cultivate strategic partnership that compliment our offerings and extend market reach.

Positioning and Sales Force Enablement
• Develop compelling messaging and positioning. Clearly articulate value propositions and differentiation.
• Develop and deliver sales education and materials for winning business in targeted markets.
• Work with marketing team on campaign activities that increase awareness and drive demand.
• Act as a spokesperson for the product line including article submission and blog postings.
• Develop relationships with important industry luminaries, including bloggers and other market influencers.
• Work with others across the company to create and execute appropriate launch plans.

Qualifications (Skills, Training, Experiential, and Travel Requirements):

As the bridge to the Product, Service and Sales teams this individual must be team oriented, strong communicator and highly collaborative. This position requires an individual who is self-motivated and a natural leader. Success will depend on the ability to earn the respect of others and drive new market opportunities.

Direct Experience: 7+ years experience in product marketing in B2B organization.
• Must have direct and demonstrable success in defining and launch new solutions to the market.
• Must have prior experience developing MRD and working with the product team to define new offerings and prioritize product enhancements. Past success in authoring MRD’s in which services were combined with platform technologies to solve specific business problems is highly desirable.
• Functional or marketing background in CRM, customer experience management, social networking or customer loyalty is strongly desired.
• Experience in targeting solutions for the marketing buyer highly desirable.
• Education: BS / BA is required. MBA desirable.
• Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to communicate effectively internally and with customers.
• Travel required 10%- 20% of time
