Position:

Accept is seeking a highly motivated, organized, talented, and experienced Director of Public Relations to lead the company’s overall public relations strategy and initiatives.

Reporting to the CMO, this individual will be responsible for developing, managing and executing a range of public relations strategies and tactics that significantly expand the company’s media exposure and brand reputation, across traditional and new media. The Director of Public Relations will work closely with corporate marketing, product management, and business development as well as members of the executive team who are spokespeople for the company. The Director of Public Relations will be skilled at all aspects of corporate and technical PR including messaging, writing, pitching, managing PR agencies and developing and maintaining press and analyst relations. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who has a passion for creating solid, results-oriented PR in a start-up environment.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Working closely with CMO to establish PR strategy and supporting tactics to achieve overall marketing plan goals
• Executing all elements of tactical PR plan
• Proactively identifying “break-out” communications opportunities and develop supporting programs with agency
• Driving increased market presence, product and brand recognition, and differentiation through the media
• Managing external PR firm—including setting and managing performance metrics, day-to-day operations, and budget
• Managing all PR aspects of product launches—including goals, strategy, plan development, tactics, content, spokespeople and media briefings, tours and events
• Sourcing and coordinating executive speaking opportunities at industry events, partner programs, and other forums—Support developing PowerPoint presentations and speech points as necessary
• Managing analyst and influencer programs—including briefings and creating presentations and other content
• Participate in creative brainstorming among both internal marketing and external PR teams, and provide active feedback and creative ideas
• Coordinating media tours/events
• Writing, editing and proofing press releases and other communications material including fact sheets, pitch letters, byline editing, Q&A’s, FAQ’s, bios, testimonial sheets, and wrap reports
• Completing projects with minimal supervision and direction, keeping team up to date on plan, programs, status, and results
• Acting as a credible PR advisor at senior levels

Requirements:

• Excellent writing skills
• Experience coordinating and monitoring media interviews
• Experience working with an external PR agency and driving execution and results is a must
• Must possess a solid understanding and comfort with technology; experience with SaaS, solutions desired
• Experience driving presence in online and new media including the blogosphere
• Organized and independent, detailed and thorough
• Strategic thinker who excels at coming up with original ideas and is able to execute
• Good team player with excellent communication skills
• At least 8 years of PR experience with a proven track record in a fast-paced environment; minimum 5 years of software technology PR experience.
• Experience working in start-up environments as well as established organizations generating greater than $50 million in annual revenue is a plus
• Agency experience highly desired
• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS)
• The ability to learn and develop with an established and growing market is a must
