Job Description:
The individual in this position will provide interactive communication counsel to a wide variety of stakeholder groups throughout the organization, spanning development of creative concepts, message presentation, and integration with other product, service or informational communication. He/she will lead cross-functional project teams. In addition, these individuals will develop and manage relationships with country marketing managers across the global H-D consumer Web sites.

The individual in this position will be members of the team responsible for the management of Harley-Davidson’s and Buell’s global web site activities. He/she will possess the technical knowledge of interactive communication and the marketing skills required to function as a key intra-and inter-departmental link within the Company; successfully partnering and collaborating with various stakeholder groups throughout the organization to execute new content development activities and content updates for our public web sites. This individual will ensure that Web site content is consistent with our overall Web site objectives as well as the business objectives of the stakeholder groups. The role is responsible for ensuring consistency in quality of presentation and content. The candidate will also manage the execution of new content, features and functions for our global Web sites and various other Web-based communications and marketing initiatives. He/she must be detail oriented and able to manage multiple complex projects.

The individual will work closely with the Company’s outside interactive communications agencies and design firms to develop and maintain site content and features, ensuring consistency with the Company’s image and brand standards. The incumbent will work closely with internal/external IS resources to coordinate technical development activities.

In performing this function, the individuals are responsible for:
Meeting with stakeholders on a regular basis to determine Web-based communication needs
Interviewing subject matter experts and gathering information
Writing draft and/or editing material and preparing appropriate imagery and/or multimedia assets
Supporting global Internet requirements
Analyzing Web site statistics and publishing regular reports
Managing large cross-functional projects.

This individuals will ensure projects are completed according to plans, schedule and budget; communicate project status to key stakeholders, and coordinate closely with the Manager, Electronic Communication and supporting teams.

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, related field or equivalent is required

Minimum of five years of experience in marketing or communications, with at least three in interactive, for a corporation or agency. High degree of proficiency with interactive communications technology (Internet, intranet, Extranet, etc.) and software. Editing and graphic design skills a plus. An extensive understanding of the web site development and management process. The ability to lead cross-functional projects. Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with others is necessary. Excellent written (business & journalistic style) & verbal communication skills a must, with strong working knowledge of print, photographic and online communications. Knowledge of public relations & marketing communications theory & practice.Proficient computer skills: Microsoft Office products as well as Internet/Intranet publishing experience. Flexibility to work in an interactive environment with a high tolerance for ambiguity and change. Self-starter with the ability to multi-task and effectively work under tight deadlines on a regular basis. Requires the ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively. Budget management experience preferred. Candidate must be able to demonstrate a level of communication and interpersonal skill that enable effective working relationships. Also, must have the ability to work well with a variety of people at every level of the Company. Some travel may be required (10%) to H-D facilities, dealerships, and company-sponsored events.

If the candidate does not meet the degree requirement a combination of relevant education and experience should total the equivalent of 13 years.
