Marketing Communications Manager

Baker Furniture is a division of Kohler Company and leading manufacturer, distributor and retailer of high-end furniture. We are seeking an experienced, creative and collaborative leader to join our team as a Marketing Communications Manager in our Chicago, IL office.

The Marketing Communications Manager has the primary responsibility for all brand-related communications for the Baker Furniture Showrooms, Stores and Dealer channel. This includes; advertising, promotional events, dealer programs, public relations and all supporting communications and marketing materials.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and monitor the creative and media advertising selections for local design center directories, newspapers, and magazines.
• Ensure that all thematic direct mail materials and in-showroom and store promotional events are on-brand.
• Represent Baker Knapp & Tubbs in a public relations role at new store openings.
• Develop all collateral including correspondence and selling tools
• Introduce new selling tools and marketing materials to the dealers.
• Develop the schedule of marketing events and programs at market for the dealers.
• Train new dealers and sales associates on how to leverage the Dealer Marketing Program
• Manage and control all spending according to the budget plan and provide
• a monthly reconciliation.
• Plan and recommend recourse for changes in budget strategy and tactics.
• Support national sales conferences with thematic collateral and other
needed materials to ensure a brand message.
• Manage the Cooperative marketing program through proactive outreach to program participants to encourage effective use of Baker marketing materials
• Ensure that Baker brand standards are communicated to dealers



RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS
Supervisory Relationships:
Reports to the Vice President of Marketing & Visual Display

Organizational relationships:
Occasional contact with Vice President of Showrooms and Stores.
Occasional contact with staff at other BKT Stores and Showrooms, and Executive Office
Regular contact with Executive Vice President Corporate Sales and Regional Sales Managers

External Business Relationships
Regular contact with Baker dealers
Regular contact with marketing agency and related marketing vendors

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A Bachelor's degree in marketing or communications with five plus years of experience as a marketing or communications manager is required. An MBA with international marketing experience is preferred.
