Job Description:
BAI – an innovative education and research company serving the financial services industry seeks an experienced Marketing Manager to join the team in our downtown Chicago headquarters. This is a unique opportunity to lead the marketing planning and execution for the industry-leading BAI Retail Delivery Conference & Expo and related BAI in-person and virtual events. This versatile marketing manager will lead the development of integrated marketing and sales strategies to attract retail financial services decision-makers and innovative technology and service companies from around the world to participate in the annual BAI Retail Delivery Conference & Expo.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in industry advisory forums and event content development discussions with subject matter experts to help shape the event value proposition.
• Develop breakthrough positioning, packaging and pricing alternatives to stimulate first-time event participation and long-term preference and loyalty for BAI events.
• Use direct marketing best practices, segmentation strategies and analytics to develop marketing communications strategies and campaigns to attract target financial institutions and technology/service company participation in BAI events.
• Develop year-round online marketing, public relations and media alliances strategies to build awareness and participation in the BAI Retail Delivery Conference & Expo and other BAI events.
• Working with a cross-functional team of stakeholders, develop a continuous stream of new event sponsorship and enhanced exhibit opportunities for technology and service companies.
• Conduct post-event debriefings using customer evaluation feedback and direct response analysis to identify key takeaways for future event campaigns. Share best practices and lessons learned to improve future campaign results.
• Manage or oversee all external marketing partner relationships including marketing agencies, graphic designers, copywriters, web developers and print/mail service providers.
• Ensure key marketing deliverables are on-time and on-budget by effectively prioritizing projects, making timely marketing decisions and manage expectations with key stakeholders.


Position Requirements
For this critical role, we seek a candidate with a balance of strategic and tactical experience in B2B marketing with an emphasis on direct marketing experience. The specific knowledge, skills and experience desired include:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• 7-10 years marketing experience in a business-to-business or agency environment. An emphasis in direct marketing and/or event marketing is preferred.
• Strategic thinker with strong analytical, communication, planning and project management skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency with new product and market development, lead generation strategy, tradeshow marketing and online marketing and media strategies.
• Highly productive and proactive self-starter, who demonstrates strong leadership skills, works well in a team environment and can manage multiple projects.
• Financial services and/or technology industry experience is a plus.
• Web and/or content-based marketing experience is a plus.

Reporting Relationships
• Reports to the Marketing Director
• Works closely with Managing Director of Events and National Sales Director
