Go With the New Kids on the Block

Brandon Leibowitz is a fan of the new kids on the block when it comes to Web directories. He says there are lots of benefits to advertising with unestablished directories. "New directories are a valuable tool for Web sites that need that extra boost in search engine ranking or in their number of visitors," he advises. "They make for a great way to increase Web exposure." Some specific reasons why:

A new directory can become a dominant one in the future. And if you get listed on it now, your site has a better chance of remaining at the top of its rankings as the directory matures and more sites are added, Leibowitz explains.

Many new directories are free. 'Nuff said right there.

No backlink is required. "Many new directories do not require a backlink, which is a great thing for building up Web presence and search engine rankings," he reports.

Qualified visitors will quickly find your relevant information. Directories related to a given search phrase often appear at the top of search rankings, Leibowitz reminds us. Advertising through a specialized directory can help you top those results lists.

"With these benefits brought to light, you should start submitting your site to as many relevant new directories as possible," Leibowitz concludes. "Why wait for the directories that are full of listings [to get results] when you can have your site listed clearly and in visible sight?"
