Do Any Of You Any Suggestions For An Easy To Implement Customer Referral Program?

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I do not have a store, but I furnish salons and spas with handcrafted jewelry and accessories, many of which can be customized. I also do one or two trunk shows a month for a salon. In addition, I am involved with a high-end clothing line that is sold privately through someone's home. From these venues, I do get private customers who then come to my home when they want something handmade, unusual and well-priced. I have a core of "regulars" and was wondering what kind of incentive I can give these customers to refer others to me? I need it to be a simple program as I have another job in addition to my business, and I am already drowning in record-keeping, ordering, etc. Any suggestions??

One of the challenges to the suggestions listed above will be to track who referred who (or even if a referrals was used). One way to do this would be to make up a simple 2-part card that you distribute to the current customers (perhaps include it with shipments of product).

The card would be made to tear apart into 2 parts. One side details the benefit to the referrer (likely a discount). The other part would be given to the person being referred and also provide some sort of incentive to them so they provide that card with their order. You can code the cards (could be as simple as marking the initials of the current customer on the card) so that you know who referred the new customer.
