Is Payperview Better Than Subscription In Europe?

Posted by Anonymous on 100 Points
I've been told that in Europe, for online premium content, the pay-per-view payment model is better responded to than the subscription model when compared with the US. Meaning that in the US, customers' response rate for annual or monthly subscriptions are higher than European customers' response rates for subscriptions- and European customers' response rate for pay-per-view is higher than US customers' response rates for pay-per-view.

Is this true? And if so, why would that be?

One theory I have: US customers have been trained to get "the most bang for the buck", so they get "the best value" package/subscription. European customers have more of a "pay as you go" consumer attitude.

I think the main reason behind this attitutude is the fact that American consumers have much more trust in honesty, reliability and fair play of companies. Therefore European customers prefer to pay as they go as it gives them more confidence they will not be duped at the very start and than left holding the baby.
