Engineering Services In Apac Region

I am taking up a new asssignment/job in the position of Business Development Manager - APAC + India region on next monday. This job would be based in western India. Since this is the first time I would be entering international sales, I invite your suggestions, comments and advices on the market size, marketing and sales strategy, prospecting, etc.
My company is into PLM space offering services in product design, modeling, analysis, tool designs, etc.

    The biggest mistake many make in APAC is assuming the Asian countries are homogenous. In India you are well aware of tensions between India/Pakistan/China. The same situations exist between countries like Japan and Korea. It's not something to dwell on, but just be very aware of.
