Critical Responsibilities

- Create company-wide employee messaging and programs to focus employees on achieving Intelsat's strategic objectives.

- Develop, manage and execute the company-wide quarterly meetings and monthly educational events, including preparation of supporting presentations and executive preparation.

- Direct the development of video and audio interviews to improve employee knowledge of late breaking news.

- Manage the editorial calendar and develop regular content and design updates for Intelsat 360, communicating themes and messages to employees in a timely manner.

- Run launch communications campaigns, including employee, external and social media programs.

- Develop Intelsat’s corporate level social media strategy and execution plan, collaborating with employees, our marketing organization, sector organizations and business partners as we break new ground in social presence by region, customer set, applications and emerging outlets. A significant part of this job is creating and curating content, thus the candidate must be able to develop a strong understanding of our technology and the markets we serve.

- Establish and regularly report success measures of our social media programs; identify and implement corrective measures.

- Collaborate with the Marketing team in order to understand marketing objectives and to create social media and employee communications campaigns that support our business goals.

- Work with the members of the Management Committee on communications programs that will facilitate elevating their profile internally, using all media.

- Support all editorial activities of Corporate Communications team.

- Design and implement employee volunteer and corporate giving programs, managing a budget of approximately $200K.

- Manage the company’s community outreach programs, identifying unique branding opportunities and facilitating positive community relations, while increasing employee morale and camaraderie.

- Manage corporate resources in support of industry events and memberships such as: SSPI, SSPI Gala, Washington Business Roundtable and WTA.
Coordinate and host Intelsat-sponsored events serving as a company and industry liaison.
Manage the company's budget for employee events.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Must have a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
- Must have at least five years of experience in corporate communications, with seven years preferred (or an equivalent combination of higher education and experience).

- Must be an accomplished writer and editor, with proven experience leveraging multiple channels of communication.

- Must have advanced knowledge of communications principles and practices, including the ability to translate company goals and strategies into successful messages, advertising and communications for internal/external consumption.

- Experience with email marketing, photography, photo editing and social media required.

- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, highly developed writing and interpersonal skills and the ability to stay organized and effective even in crisis situations.

- Highly developed strategic thinking skills required, including the ability to interact with key internal stakeholders and to maintain a highly visible role within the organization.

- High degree of professional decorum required.

- Prior experience with customer relationship management tools (specifically SalesForce.com) preferred.

- Experience with web-based tools, including HTML and Dreamweaver highly preferred.
