It celebrates Mark Twain's first short story, 'The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County,' which was a hit (frogs have been cool since at least 1865). Frog jumping in Calaveras County is, in fact, a thing. Rosie the Ribeter set the record in 1986 by jumping over 21 feet!
