Op-ed Reprints - Solicited Or Sold?

I am trying to use an op-ed piece for marketing purposes. When does a paper reprint an op-ed piece? Is it something they find on thier own, or is it something I can try and push to them? If it's a matter of me contacting them to see if they're interested, who would I contact?

    Op-ed pieces are a great way to get coverage if you follow the rules. You solicit newspapers to use your op-ed pieces. Here's a link to an article I wrote on the subject of op-ed pieces that may help you.
