When you are given a topic on which to write, broad is a good thing because you can write on just about anything. The best thing to do is to narrow it yourself to a single topic that you know about or have interest in. To me, linking Marketing, Systems Thinking, and Cybernetics would mean ways to improve the marketing process using the internet. For instance, things like online CRM systems, web analytics, and direct eMail campaign management would be three areas to choose to start some literature search. Another tip for you...pick a topic you on which you can find lots written. So choose two or three in your mind and then go to the library and see what you can find. One more tip: DON'T sit in your room and do a literature search on the internet, especially the general internet! The internet DOES NOT have all pieces of information available and most of the stuff you find generally is not good material because the claims aren't verified and validated and it becomes like passing rumors! If you have an online library that gives access to peer reviewed literature, this is a good start, but actually go to the library. You can amass a lot of material there and you have access to the research librarian - an invaluable person!

    I hope this helps.
