How Can I Get A Virtual Phone Number?

Posted by Anonymous on 50 Points
We are looking to get a phone number for our company that is not "installed" anywhere and can just be forwarded to other numbers. i.e. we get 444-555-6666. It is then forwarded to MY cell phone or office phone. I go out and transfer the "forwarding" to my partner's cell phone. That way the phones are always answered, and I am not tied to answering it all the day. We are in different states, but want to work as a seamless team. Any suggestios?

Thanks! Marla

    Marla,
You can actually do this with an toll free number. I don't want to paste the link here, but if you contact me offline I'll e-mail it to you.

    It's called "Follow me Anywhere"

You could also use an opensource telephone system called Asterix. You can buy hotspot phones that work on wireless netowrks, everytime you are in range of a wireless zone, your handset takes calls and retrieves messages.

Another choice is https://www.gizmoproject.com/ (now works with your Nokia 770).
