Catchy Tagline Needed For A Retail 20% Off Coupon

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I work for a retail clothing company in their Marketing department. We are doing a bagstuffer coupon for 20% off one regular price item. We want to put something on the front that lets our customers know we are doing it as kind of a gift to them, thanking them. This is the first time we have done it and I am new with the company so I want something edgy, fun and creative but I suck at coming up with the copy writing on my own. Some generic ideas for wording just so you all have an idea of what I mean is....Our gift to you...Reward yourself....our way of saying thanks....
PLEASE HELP!
Our target group is younger women 17 years to 22 years old and we are competing with companies such as American Eagle, Wet Seal etc.

    Hi mdale,
Will an edgy, fun & creative tagline improve your message or the response to the offer? I'm not being cynical here. Data shows people respond better to straight forward info. They are not interested in anything that sounds like hype. Have you reviewed any of the promos from your competitors? What did they do and were they successful?

There is a home improvement chain in our area that runs a similar promo from time to time. They actually give you a bag instead of a coupon. Printed on the bag is "17% off anything in this bag. Item must fit inside the bag"
    Hope this helps,

You want something fun and sassy, so:

    We Love You!
So, here - have a discount. Honestly, 20% off anything in the store on your next purchase is the least we can do to show how we feel about you. Just bring this coupon back with you next time and promise you'll still respect us in the morning.

    Promise not to tell anyone?
Okay, good. If you bring this coupon back next time, we'll give you 20% off anything in the store. But, it's a secret, okay? If you start telling your friends, we'll end up getting swamped with customers and who needs that?

You get the idea - fun, chatty, self-deprecating. Hope this helps.

    Buy 4, get 1 more - Free
(Works out to 20% off, 5 for the price of 4...)

    Spend 4, get 1 more - Dollar...
((This works out to 25% off, could not think of a good rhyme with 5...)
(For every 4 dollars you spend, we'll give you another dollar you can use on any item in the store...Restrictions apply - IE can't be applied to previous purchases, combined with other sale items, must be used at time of purchase...))

Not to be too negative but - is 20% off just ONE item really an incentive or a slap in the face? Is it worth the trip?

Your job is to get people in the store and turn merchandise, put everything on sale.

You want to generate response and loyalty give them 20% off everything in the store by creating a customer loyalty program.

Track what they buy to see what it is you sell that they actually want - note the trend

The boss has gone crazy, Bring a friend & you both get an extra XX% off everything! Besides your current customer base, your next best prospect is the friends of your customer. Do you know who they are? Take advantage of the 20% off and capture their name, email, phone, address, etc...

You should be mailing them a postcard, emailing, or calling everytime you have a sale
