Jobs That Get Out Of Hand

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
"Change of work" order forms are a fine idea in theory, but in my single-person graphics company, many clients add to and change their original jobs so frequently that these forms are time-consuming, intrusive and impractical. How else can I control client behavior?

OOOO....I know this scenario all too well.

I go out on a limb and tell my clients straight up:

"This constant changing is causing exponential damage to your branding. In addition, we have found ourselves spending more and more time responding to emails, phone calls and filling out/tracking billing issues regarding your project, which consequentially, fights against efficiency even further. Please be advised although we are more than happy to make the changes you request, we humbly ask for you to consider our advice before implementation. Thank you for your time and feel free to contact me wth any questions or concerns regarding the matter"

If they keep on intruding into your time, which is not fair for other and potential clients, drop-em. It may sound harsh, but having the time to really help the non-high-maintenance clients will be more rewarding than jumping through hoops all day long and delaying other projects for one person.

    I hope this helps!

    Good Luck!
