Internet Marketing Dissertation Idea?

Hi. I am 25 a student in the UK and have to write a dissertation for my Bachelor in Marketing and PR. I have a degree in International Marketing Assistance from Germany and worked in the US as a Marketing Coordinator last year when I did not study. Now I am back at University.
I am interested in Graphic design and web design and want to write something about the internet marketing aspect, the importance of good web design and search engine marketing etc.. I have a week to find a topic now.
I also thought I could combine my dissertation with designing a simlple but effective webpage for a business idea and in illustrator design some banner ads and kind off give the dissertation a real life touch to it. Something that is actually on the web and working after the dissertation is done.
I am not sure what to do. The topic itself interests me a lot though (internet marketing). Do any of you know something that would match the interests I described and would make a good topic?

    How about interactive marketing via internet.

    What are the current gaps that we can address to?

    (Sorry, I didn't do any research on this but it just popped into my head. Saw a report this morning on Microsoft, Google all bidding for a stake in facebook and I was thinking why facebook is such a hit - interaction applications)
