Shellghada,

Welcome to KHE! I noticed this was your first question and We would like to know more about you. Please fill out your Customer Profile.

Go to www.google.com and put in "companies importing tropical fruits or companies exporting tropical fruits". I'm sure you will learn a lot from the process. I hope this helps. Is there anything else I can do for you?

Your Servant, Deremiah, *CPE (Customer Passion Evangelist)

I would believe that there must be a table of sorts, a fruit import price index, where importers/exporters share information. I assume you get their eMail by calling and asking for it, if it is not posted. I am confident that the USDA has daily information posted on their website. They may have links for you to follow.

Please do not take this next question in the wrong way, but if you actually are an importer, did you not put together a plan, a strategy before you went into business that would outline your risk/benefit analysis?

Hi shellghada,

Building on the answers above, when you go to Google as Deremiah mentioned make sure you don't just look under Web results, check out the companies using AdWords on the right.

One example is alibaba, "Fruit Importers" which Randall mentioned, and there are many more.

I hope that helps.

Hello Shellghada

Fruits from Africa to Egypt...

I would have helped more if it was about Mangoes, Apples and some other fruits from India. THere's a terrific mango type called banganapalli’s from A.P, Apples--Kashmir, Kinnaur, and the best of pears, peaches from Coonoor, TN.

Why not try your sourcing with contacts based in DUbai? I've actually visited the booming markets there years back. One of the large trading groups is named 'Al Futtaim'. THere are of course other links.

You might also find this trade site interesting

Also, apart from alibaba.com have you checked this link:

I'm sure that you are on the way to what you need.

Hope these thoughts help!

Each country ambassy usually maintains a list of producers. Therefore, you may obtain good results targeting the agricultural body of the ambassy of the country that produces the fruits that you wish to import.

A visit to targeted countries may also provide you with useful contacts that Google can not identify as many do not have web sites at this point.
