    Hi Lerky88,

I am not a graphics designer ( but I have been making a few templates for my website) but you might want to have a look at this site. This site has 4999 logs on it.

    https://www.logotypes.ru/default_e.asp

Then have a look at the logos that you know and like, then write down the bits you like about them. If a attribute comes up a lot then you should put that in the logo.

You also might want to have a look on www.google.com

    https://www.google.co.nz/search?q=good+logo&sourceid=mozilla-search&start=0...

    https://www.google.co.nz/search?hl=en&safe=off&client=firefox-a&rls=org.moz...

    etc etc

Keep this question open as there are a lot of designers on this site, that will help you.

You also might want to visit some graphics design forums and ask this question. I am sure you will find plenty of info.

If you need any more help let me know, I might have a few templates to send you.

    hi there

    great answer by Zahid.

now a days you see different types of logos you come across. some have the brand name itself as the logo(Nokia, Samsung, Sony, Coke, Pepsi etc.), some have a logo with the brand name written with it(Novartis, BAT etc.), while some logos are so strong now that they themselves represent their brands(Nike, Reebok, Adidas, Puma etc.).

    here are my 2 cents....

    1. the logo should at least be associcated with the brand name. i.e. Nokia, LG, Coke, sony etc. all these logos are
having brand name as the logo.
    2. you can create the logo with the initial of the company name (acronym) i.e. "gsk" for GlaxoSmithKline, BP for British Petroleum.
    3. YOu can create the logo by taking the shape of the natural element (if your brand name is taken from nature), i.e. SHELL.
    4. Nike and Reebok are also great logos but it took them a lot of time to take the logo to the current height of success thats associated with the brand.
    5. it must be easily recognizable to all its stakeholders, specially the primary and secondary target consumers.
    6. the logo must reflect the brand personality and image.
    7. must reflect the brand values at all levels.
    8. consistant communication across all platforms.
    9. lastly but not the least, the logo must be of the brand colors.
    10. the brand colors and the logo colors are better if the combination is bright and contrast. all the successful brands and logos have great contrasting, bright and vibrant colors.

    hope that helps.

    cheers!!
