Tm For An Online Product

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I want to use telemarketing to promote an online product, and ...

1. I can't expect the prospect to type in a complicated URL, but

2. I want to be able to track which reps are doing well, so I need to use priority codes.

I'm thinking of using redirects, e.g., The rep says "Please go to foobar.com/1", which would redirect the user to a page with the appropriate priority codes, e.g., foobar.com/index.html?PC=23DFGSD, or whatever.

Alternatively, I'm thinking of personalizing the faux URL, e.g., "Please go to foobar.com/joe", which would likewise redirect to the messy URL.

If anyone has had experience with this sort of thing, do you think this is the right general approach, and can you help me with any details or suggestions?

Thanks,

Greg

Haved you thought of using tinyurl?

It's at www.tinyurl.com in case you don't know it.

You can shorten ludicrously long urls to something very compact.

    Hope this helps.
