Toll-free Vanity Number Vs. Local 10-digit

We are an electrical contracting firm in a major-metro city.

My question is this: is a toll-free vanity number (888) Go--company name worth the addtional cost for memorization purposes even if you do not have many calls from customers that are considered long distance?

I know you've closed the question but want to add one last suggestion anyway to help you if you go ahead with a vanity letters.

In your marketing materials please please please offer the actual numbers in addition to the vanity spelling e.g.

    Call us at:
    1-800-MYPHONE or 1-800-697-4663

For really impatient people like me (and most of us are to some degree), it is frustrating to have to figure out what number each letter represents. Many companies forget to do this - make it easy and rewarding for customers to call. Good luck...Avalon
