Try the truth. Why are you interested in marketing? Why did you decide to get an MBA? If someone asks the question and you want to be honest with them, what's wrong with giving them truthful answers?

Anything we say will be either what WE would have said (or wish we would have said) or some contrived answer that tries to justify a point of view. If someone asks YOU the question, presumably he or she wants YOUR answer.

P.S. Being flexible and adaptive, and having an outgoing personality are, in my view, irrelevant. Communication skills are important, but most important are an analytical mind and a passion for understanding what motivates consumers/customers.

I agree with the previous postings. Here are my 2 cents:

    - think of what your previous work experience has been
    - think of what you ultimately want to accomplish
    - think of how you see yourself 5 years from now

It all should lead to "an mba in marketing is the next logical step". The key thing is to be able to sell yourself not only because of the mba but because of who you are as a person. For some people the mba in marketing helps them dig deeper into a subject area they are interested, for others it rounds them as a professional... what will it be for you? Only you can tell.

    Hope this helps.
