Website Redesign - Your Comments Welcome

We've recently redesigned our company website (www.gaelquality.com) to focus on the quality management solutions that we provide, and I'd appreciate your comments and criticisms on it.

1. Is the site’s focus (quality management solutions) clear?
2. Does the rest of the site clarify the information on the home page?
3. Does the site give visitors enough information to:
- find out about our products and services?
- contact us/buy our products?

I'm already aware of issues in viewing the site with Mozilla/Firefox, but I'd welcome any and all feedback on the site's design, content and structure.

    Good clean fast site. Like the colors scheme, although the body text was a bit hard on my eyes (might just be my bad eyesight), not sure if black would be better or not. Excellent work.

    Some minor suggestions:
    1. Home Page Real Estate - Push down Quick Links or separate Quick Links and Latest News and put Case Study links to influential UK or EURO names.
    1.a Even better, write some code to geo-code the inbound IP to a region or country and place case studies that have the best name recognition for that area.
    2. If you plan to use search engines to be found, I would suggest adding a sitemap to the bottom of your site pages as a text link. Since you are using .js nav the search engines won't crawl your site correctly. Your site map should include at least all you major pages with the key words that might be used to find your organization.

    Overall good job. Font is too small for me, although I can see why it is that size, to keep it all above the fold.

    Yes, too me it is very clear. Nice job here.

    Yes, it all works well together.

    3. Does the site give visitors enough information to:
    - find out about our products and services?
    - contact us/buy our products?

    No problem there, you have put a lot time into the sire assuring the appropriate information is availalble.

    I like your case study PDF downloads.

    One thing you might want to consider is to include a signup box clearly displayed for people to join your mailing list. It looks like you could provide a lot of valuable information on a regular, say once a month basis to those interested.

    Interesting name! Not much to add to ROIHUNTER and Pepper Blue's comments, except to say I echo ROIHUNTER'S point that you should consider adding a site map link. And, allowing people to opt-in to your e-mail list is a good idea, but that would mean you actively disseminate information to clients, prospects, etc in the form an e-newsletter, which I couldn't tell you do from your site. Other than that, the site is effective in its design and message.

    Nice site!
    One of the better ones I have visited recently.

    Too much text in too small a font for my liking on the home page, but I can see the need for this.
    I like the way the contact telephone numbers show up when you scroll down on the home page.
    My answer to your questions 1, 2, 3a, 3b would be: Yes

    Haven't taken a look at the content of the site yet but since I noticed an issue with the Opera 8 browser I felt I should intimate you ASAP.
    I have taken a screenshot to explain the same. It is available at:

    So, do have a look.

    I shall go through the content and architecture soon.

    I may come up with other cross-browser compliance problems as I handle my web solutions companies issues in this matter.

    The site itself nearly does (need more keyword rich copy especially on homepage) but major misgivings about the site optimisation.

    85% of all internet journeys starting with a search it is absolutely vital that you optimise your site for search engines. You definitely need to reconstruct your tags etc.

    A/ Reconstruct to get natural search listings

    1. ensure your works with keywords and keyphrases which people are searching to get to your site. Look at your weblogs and see where the clicks are coming from. Try these in <a href=http://www.google.com class="resplink" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">www.google.com</a> and more probably more revealing <a href=http://www.overture.com class="resplink" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">www.overture.com</a> in order to get invaluable info on keywords being searched on. Keep trying different keywords. These are what you need to optimise your site for. Your current title <Q Pulse - ISO 9000/2000 Management Software /site/0_home/default.asp> doesn't target your keywords very well (compliance?). Are you a well known ISO 9000 supplier? If not a household name then you definitely need to change your title. ISO 9000 was searched for 2733 times on overture network in UK in march 2005. You can at least double that if you take google in to account. <br>You need to look at the use of all meta tags to assist in taking you up the natural rankings. TITLES, KEYWORDS, DESCRIPTION, ALTTAGS, H1 -6 tags etc. <br><br>You do definitely need a sitemap to help spiders search your site especially as you use java script. Your homepage copy is too short, not keyword rich enough and your keyword keyphrases don't correspond with your titles. SORRY! but it's best to be honest.<br><br>2. look at your competition - go to google, type in keywords into the search. The returns are who you will be up against. V tough market, but very few of the sites paying for advertising are well optimised. Look at their coding by right clicking when you are on their site and looking at view source. Pinch their ideas! It's legal.<br><br>B/Consider pay per click ads. Although this can soon mount up. Your competition are already doing this (<a href=http://www.qmuk.co.uk class="resplink" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">www.qmuk.co.uk</a> and qmsuk.com on google). Nobody adverting on overture??? Very good opportunity for you.<br><br>C/ Agree with rest of answers regarding navigation and look and feel. You also need to build backlinks to your site.
