Software To Graph A Position Map?

I have seen many times during college that a product positioning map is very useful but I have always wondered what programs do you use to make one. Because I could do it with Word, but it would not be very accurate so I'm looking for a software in which you plot the data and then it gives you the positioning map.
Please any help will be welcomed.
